Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

Not one of her better works. The story was very drawn out & then slammed you with everything in the last 2 chapters. I guessed the storyline immediately, it just wasn’t a very good read.
However, I did enjoy her perception of toxic home environments & how detrimental they are. Camille grew into a damaged, self-harming (in multiple aspects) woman which unfortunately can, and often does, happen with children who are in any way abused by their parents or caregivers.
Overall the story was relatively boring, but the take on mental health was fairly accurate.
