Demon's Dream by Elle Kayson
3.0

I can’t take the broken the English! I know this is an “urban novel,” but geez verbs and articles exist in the hood. And then the typos, y’all have to read these books before you publish them!
That being said I’m a sucker for a complete story, and this is 750 page behemoth filled with hood trauma and drama. Now was it entertaining yes, but I’m not for this life.
Reactions:
—When did kingpins start dabbling in arranged marriages of their virginal daughters? Dante and Dream’s father sound like two old sultan’s arguing over the bride price of their daughters.
—With a title like Demon’s Dream I thought there was only one romantic plot, but there are actually two love stories unfolding. Both are a ghetto mess, but each character is fully developed.
—I know it sounds cute when a man is obsessed with you but the men in novel are beyond toxic and controlling! Putting tracking devices in gifted jewelry is crazy! —-The insecurity of these women is wild, why do they think every woman their man knows is an ex?
—These fathers or father figures are deplorable, how can you willing give your daughter to her attacker.
—Between men kidnapping women and claiming them as their own, and jaded teenagers murdering their parents, my pearls are clutched, these people are nuts! I was clearly not ready. The book tok girlies have been raving about this urban romance and while it is a page turner these characters truly disturbing!
