The Ballad of Perilous Graves by Alex Jennings
5.0
This book was so damn good. It’s one of those that pulls you along for the ride and you just dance along to the rhythm. The wordcraft alone had such beautiful texture that paired so well with the story. Some of my favorite quotes:
“There ain’t no such thing as normal people. Anybody pay attention to anything know that“ — Peaches, p. 76
Carefully, he picked up the clock, switched it off, and set it back in its place, pleased that he’d resisted the childish urge to bash it to smithereens. — p. 270
His speech was so precise. All his Rs and Gs had hospital corners. — p. 315
A calm crystalline, terror settled like a cape around Casey’s shoulders. — p. 318
