The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

5.0

I've had this book in my bookcase for so long, but I finally had the time to crack it open.
The hype is real, and it didn't disappoint.

I'm a fan of Greek and Roman mythology. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a scholar, but I was a Percy Jackson kid growing up. So to reread The Iliad from Patroclus' queer perspective, was definitely what I wanted and didn't know I needed.

Miller makes all her books super accessible to read. They hook you and guide you gently through the plot. I quite enjoyed this. It was like taking a reading holiday from all my uni texts and classics.

I'd definitely recommend this book. I can see how it won't be everyone's cup of tea... but if you're queer, a fan of mythology, and want an easy-to-read novel... open this book.
