Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline
4.0
This was another one of those books where the broad strokes of the story are fairly obvious/predicable but the details are satisfying enough that it doesn’t matter.
I’ve seen reviews saying the chances of Molly and Vivian’s lives intersecting as they did was too small to be believable. But aren’t chance encounters and rare circumstances often what make fiction interesting? There is another meeting of people in the book that I found more unlikely than one between these two, but who cares? It makes for a good tale.
(I read the revised version with the added scene, for the record)
