Eyes on Me by Sara Cate
3.0

yes, i have returned with more reviews that no one asked for. i read the first book in this series and was OBSESSED so i obviously read this one. although it had a lot of the same elements from the first book that i liked, it was the trope that really prevented me from enjoying it as much as the first. the step siblings to lovers trope is a very slippery slope. and while i pointed out to my roommate that it's not technically incest, describing something as 'not technically incest' doesn't really help it's cause.

i feel like the dynamics of the relationship between Garrett and Mia were very unbalanced because they've known each other since Mia was 8 and Garrett was 21. yes, you read that right. he is 13 years older than her and has known her since she was a literal child. but it's 'okay' because Mia is 23 now and Garrett has never thought of her sexually until recently. i honestly would've been able to ignore these facts if it wasn't mentioned repeatedly through out the book. they literally refer to each other, multiple times, as brother and sister. even after they fuck! like guys, stop. get some help. also the fact their friends AND parents are just completely okay with them being together is CRAZY. like in what world would people support a relationship like this.

summary: i'd like it better if not for the subtle incest
