For me, it felt like a breath of fresh air. Hopeful, funny and inspiring. At times I was reminded of Astrid Lindgrenâs Pipi Langstrumpf, her leaning to daydreaming and using her imagination and also the way that Anne interacts with people that treat her overly critical.
I loved how Anne draws her imagination from nature, how she gives places and plants a new name as an act of kindness and appreciation. She is also very curious and a dedicated learner and tries to make the people proud that are closest to her.
I bought it as a gift for my niece and I wanted to read it first. I'm sure, she'll love it, too.
