Reads like a sideplot of The Savage Detectives (I haven't read The Savage Detectives yet). Classic Bolaño type shit, mocking the "poet's life" and the self-assuredness of youth, while also having real tenderness and love for both, not that this means there will be happy endings, of course. For example, the letters from a young Bolaño to Ursula K. LeGuin.... so good. Partially an epistolary novel. Some really funny sexual stuff in here but also some relationship/love stuff going on that hit too close to home, particularly some of the parts with Laura
