I really didn't know how to feel about this one. I think it may at least be in part due to the fact that I'm currently powering through a reading slump, which is why it took me a month to finish despite only taking a few days of actual reading.

The characters are intentionally flawed, which I know that I would usually like, though it wasn't the easiest thing to put up with considering how difficult reading has been already recently. But I wouldn't hold that against it because, again, I would probably have enjoyed it a lot more if I wasn't in a slump.

The story was interesting, and it was a slightly new setting for me as I don't know a whole lot about Pompeii (I'm just a big Ancient Greece nerd), so it was nice to read from a very new perspective.

The ending did feel a little rushed. There was just a really sudden change within the last two chapters that kind of threw me through a loop, and although I did see where it was coming from, I don't think the ending got enough attention.
