The Secret of the Mansion by Julie Campbell

5.0

When I was in junior high my friend and I borrowed these books from our friend's mom. Trixie was so fun and relatable. She made mistakes, she had many interests, and goals; she just felt so human.

Re-reading these books as an adult doesn't take away the fun. It is easier to see how outdated the language is, how absurd the plot is, and how poor the foreshadowing is. But none of this takes away the fun. Generationally we live worlds apart, but how can you not relate to a story about friendship. Trixie Belden is always fun to revisit! I recommend this if you are looking for something episodic and fast.
