Alone by Megan E. Freeman
4.0

A quick-reading, accessible, and engaging novel-in-verse about a girl trying to survive being left behind in an abandoned Colorado small town. Never mind the sketchy, not really believable scenario that puts her there, because it's her story of solitude that matters; it's a good one. A mix of dystopia and wilderness survival. Maddie must learn to negotiate life alone: basic needs like food and shelter, unexpected elements of nature, and her emotions. It's highly compelling.
