My father died suddenly, but also across the years. He was still dying, really - which meant I guess that he was still living, too.
I haven't read John Green since high school, over a decade ago, and it feels a bit like coming home. I needed an easier, more palatable read and I really enjoyed this one so it was tough to put down.
It's tricky - Aza's character can be so infuriating and then I remember she literally cannot help it. It's tough to realize that while she is a fictional character, her experience is very real for so many.
The Pickett plot really didn't matter at all to me - I was in this for the teen crush experience and to see Aza's progression - which is really the only reason I docked a star.
