Airhead: The Imperfect Art of Making News
by Emily Maitlis
This would have been five stars if it hadn’t been for two little things, first - I found myself getting lost in some of the political language and arguments in the transcripts of interviews. Other than that this is a truly brilliant book, I don’t know how Emily Maitlis chose the interviews and encounters she has explored in more depth in this book, but they cover a variety of subjects and have given me so much food for thought. Maitlis is clearly a woman who loves her job, she puts her heart in it and the concern she has for her interviewees and how she second guesses herself paints a picture of a kind person. I borrowed this book from the library (love your libraries people, use them or lose them!) but I’ve loved it so much I think I might have to buy my own copy! Oh, and the second dislike - I can’t believe she’s friends with Piers Morgan!
