Once again I won't be breaking this review into categories because there are only so many ways I can say I love it.
Shveta Thakrar has one of the loveliest writing styles I have ever seen. Star Daughter is full of magical, entrancing, BEAUTIFUL figurative language. I absolutely adore this book.
Sheetal is such an amazing character. She reminds me a lot of myself, especially regarding her experiences with desi culture, both in her family and the huge group of aunties and uncles.
Thakrar weaves several very different storylines together with perfect harmony. This book is full of magic and astronomy and gorgeous Hindu mythology and lore. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy and any desi, especially Hindu, person who wants to see their culture written as magic.
