This isn't necessarily a great book/zine/pamphlet if you think of it as an actual self-help guide, but it is enjoyable and effective if you think of it as the author's exhortations to himself and a journal of some hard-won self-knowledge.It might also help to be under 30 years old. It has a lot of good pithy lines like, "Read more than you drink," and "Having bad heroes is like having bad parents," and "One thing I've learned from the farmers around here: Some things make you stronger. Some just make you old."
