Because the main male character literally rapes the lead female character and thinks to himself “seduction or rape. He’d take either” during the moment they’re having non-consensual intercourse. Apparently this is a theme in Abe’s work. My copy will be getting used as tinder for our next backyard fire. Unacceptable writing, glorifying this harmful relationship.

The plot is thin and has the trope of heroine kidnapped by bad guy who wants her as his mate and then oh wow she eventually kinda maybe likes him maybe even though she doesn’t want to…and then leads to rape. Yeah, sorry, this is not fantasy and not art.
