jordygriffis 's review for:
The Secret Lives of Booksellers and Librarians: True Stories of the Magic of Reading
by Matt Eversmann, James Patterson
My first ARC review!
Enjoyed this more than I was expecting to. It left me feeling very hopeful, to be able to read everyone’s experience in the bookselling/librarian world! It touched on topics such as the recent book banning, representation within the book world, and community’s coming together over their love of reading. The only thing is that it doesn’t really deep dive into anything really. Ultimately, that doesn’t bother me too much considering that each chapter is fairly short and from a different perspective. I think it’s a great book to introduce people into the behind the scenes aspect of the world of books. Overall, I really enjoyed this and it was a great, feel good read!
