God was this BORING. The only reason I pushed through is because one of my friends had been recommending me this book for months now. Being such a fan of Hades and Persephone myself, I thought this would be at least enjoyable fun. But boy, was I wrong!! I cannot find a single thing I liked about this other than one or two of the scenes between Henry and Kate, and the added twist to the original myth. Overall, it was so bland, and cliché. Even if this was published in 2011, this read more like early 2000s YA, and not the good kind that you read back on nostalgically. I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone else, to be honest.
