There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool

4.0

If you are one of those people that thinks the characters are more important than the plot when reading a book, this is definitely for you. There are multiple povs where you get to know each character and their motivations and passions, and that allows you to form your own opinion of them based on that and not just their actions, and I find this really interesting.
Just as with every book in this style, I found some characters and story lines more compelling than others, but at the same time the povs switch very quickly so you don't get bored in the parts you're not so interested in. The prophesy and the people involved in it were my favourite part of the book, but I fear it will get lost in the midst of the conflict in the sequel. I've read way too many fantasy books to still like the war part, so I really enjoy more character based novels.

I really liked The Will Come a Darkness, let's see how the series continues.
