Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang

5.0

This book chronicles the lives of Jung Chang, her mother, grandmother, and other family members as they lived in China under different governments. Most of the book takes place when Mao controlled the country and Jung Chang’s parents worked as communist party officials. Because her family were so involved with the government, I was able to learn so much about late 1800s and 1900s China, how it was run, and how the way it was run affected the people. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys history and an interesting read.
