I have never laughed and got emotional while reading a book to the extent as I did with Orlando. This definitely became one of my all time favourite pieces. Virginia Woolf's wit, satirical style and the ability to describe human existence, particularly of a woman, in such nuanced, multilayered way is unlike anything else I've ever read. The language, structure and the rhythm were just beautiful. I don't even know how to write a review for this, I just absolutely loved this book.
I loved the descriptions of society changing over time. The existential turmoil that Orlando went through was (especially in the beginning) perhaps insufferable, but all so relatable. This book wasn't just about gender but humanity and life.
