The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Jay Papasan, Gary Keller

3.0

3 stars = I liked it. Like most self-help books, it suffers from generalisations, it lacks a discussion on privilege/circumstances, and sometimes presents anecdotal evidence as causational, however, it still is a worthy self-help read.

The book is mostly backed up by some evidence/research and its main theme is absolutely worthy – it helped me navigate my priorities and how to focus on one thing at a time.

Mr Keller's discussion on nutrition and one's daily schedule is a bit preachy and absolutely redundant, dated and untrue (there's no one diet or a daily schedule that would work for everyone) + the conclusion of the book is a bit trite, otherwise, I would recommend the book – it's one of the books that does indeed offer solid time management/priorities/self-help substance while not trying to be everything. The main idea presented here is worthy and overall it is not an unnecessarily lengthy read.
