Finally Yours by Elena Aitken was a short second chance romance that, though entertaining, could have used a bit more depth. I appreciated the time these characters took to get to know each other, but because so much of that took place off page, it seemed like they had to do quite a bit of recapping. While I’m usually a fan of perspective changes in romance, I wasn’t a fan of the overlapping scenes. I appreciated getting to see the scene from both perspectives, but I felt like they could have been trimmed down, especially in so short a story. This would have given room for them to reconnect and get to know each other after so many years apart, which is what I felt this book was lacking, instead, opting for spice when perhaps a conversation would have been more beneficial to romantic connection. This is easily read in one sitting, so if you’re looking for an entertaining, spicy second chance romance with older protagonists, give this one a shot, but just be aware that it feels a bit repetitive in some places.
