The Edge of the Abyss by Emily Skrutskie

5.0

OMG, I want more, I am so in love with this world and I am so damn happy I found it. I sat down to read this book and the next thing I know it's pitch black outside and my afternoon has vanished. I regret nothing lol. I loved this book even more than the first. I loved the push and pull of Cas and Swift that tension and charge between them. Again it still felt like it was just naturally part of the story, not someone shoehorning a romance into it.
Santa Elena is still my favourite character that danger around her and authority was just so well written. You felt for the other characters that interacted with her. I also loved Varma and the time he spent with Cas it was a fab way to soften them both and see these other sides.
Cas reaching out to her brother was heartbreaking and so emotionally charged. I found myself lying there thinking what would I have done.
The ending was amazing and the big omg moment I was not expecting. I'm gonna say it again this universe would be so incredible on the big screen if done right.
