The Bridge on the Drina by Ivo Andrić
3.0

This book is about a bridge and it's effect on the people and the town surrounding it. It takes place in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the building of the bridge to its destruction at the start of WW1. I enjoyed learning about the culture and history of a plave and time period I'm unfamiliar with. I also enjoyed most of the chapters, each a story of the lives somehow related to the bridge, and all of them were extremely interesting with well written characters. Despite this, this book was definitely not a page turner and took me almost a year to finish.
