The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff

3.0

SYNOPSIS:
Mackie is not who others think he is. Sure he looks human but he's something more. He comes from a world under the city he lives in, a world full of living dead girls ruled by a tattoo little princess. When tragedy strikes and one of Mackie's schoolmates little sister dies,Tates, She fails to believe that the dead corpse was really her sister, and she turns to Mackie to help her prove it.

REVIEW:
I was excited when I started to be reading this book. Even though I didn't have major high hopes for it, I thought it would be a little bit better. I had expected a chilling, horrific novel, the novel was hardly what I had expected. You constantly find Mackie in the same situations (He gets sick, he's healed, he gets sick, he's healed, over and over). It wasn't until the last 60 pages that the action really started to get going and I kept flipping page onto page until the very end, for that I will give the replacement a "Small Heart Rating" (AKA 3 out of 5 stars).

AGE RATING AND RECOMMENDED TO:
Every now and then the reader encounters the occasional curse word, so for that I give the age rating a 13 & over. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a chill down there spine, but nothing even close to horrifying.
