The Pairing by Casey McQuiston
medium-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? Character
- Strong character development? Yes
- Loveable characters? No
3.0
I liked it, but I thought I would love it so it was a little bit underwhelming.
I think I really would have loved it had it been written in 3rd person (i have an issue with characters' inside voice)
LOVED the last 10/20%, but Theo was not an likeable character until that point for me and I liked Kit from the beginning so I was not rooting for them unfortunately (maybe it was because Theo's pov was the first one we got and I fell in love with Kit through Theo's eyes but even Kit's pov didn't make me like Theo that much)
A lot of food description (like a LOT)(maybe too much)(especially in the first 40%)
I might or might not read it again in the summer when it's published to get a final thought, maybe I just need to sit with the characters for a bit because I really liked the story overall.
