I really enjoyed this book about three German women living through, but mostly after, World War II. The plot moved swiftly and not predictably, the characters were three dimensional, and the descriptions of individuals reconciling themselves with the rapidly changing (deteriorating!) politics and morals of their country was resonant. I strongly recommend it.
