Virgin River
by Robyn Carr
I had never read anything by Robyn Carr before but I'm glad I picked this one up. My library did a discussion for it online and it was fun to read. I rarely do romance books on audio either but he narrator was good and although it was a long book, I found myself eager to listen to it and finish it. The only things that bothered me a bit about it were the amount of babies/pregnancy (just harder for me to relate to since I haven't experienced it) and the depictions of grief (having a hard time dealing with my own, so it's hard to read about sometimes still). The premise is a fish-out-of water story where the heroine (a LA midwife/nurse) finds herself in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere where she hopes she can heal from some major grief in her life (losing her husband). She ends up finding more than she bargained for. I look forward to reading the next in this series.
