The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey

4.0

I had a hard time putting this coming of age thriller down! It is a quick read with short chapters and different POVs. It’s also twisty and dark, just the way I like it.

I had lots of feelings while reading this story; anger, frustration, and disgust. I know a book is well written when it takes me on a rollercoaster of emotions.

Reaching that part of childhood where you start to see the nastiness of people is hard to process. It was hard seeing Heather realize not everyone you love is as innocent as they seem. I was rooting for the girls the whole time!

I loved the setting of this book as well; a town where all the houses are connected by an underground tunnel system is brilliant and creepy. I can definitely imagine kids using the tunnels as their own personal playground.

If you like a fast-paced, small town drama, kidnapping/murder story, you will like this book.
