Batman: Detective Comics, Volume 6: Icarus by Brian Buccellato, Francis Manapul

4.0

This volume of detective comics is beautifully drawn and layed out. From a visual standpoint, the artists really played with the conventional panels and made a well crafted and vibrantly colored story. That being said, the actual story is fairly bare bones and simple. Batman Detective comics thrives when an author layers stories between the gcpd and batman and unfortunately the synergy between the two didn't work. Bullock wasn't developed as much as he should've been and batman is mostly just running around in another drugs are bad story. While it is fun to read, it doesn't offer too much new other than the beautiful artwork. That being said it is definitely worth a read.
