OK this was cute buttttt I am thinking that maybe the way Ali Hazelwood writes her FMCs isn't for me..

This is only the second book I have read by Ali but I am sensing a pattern of the stubborn female character who is so stuck in her ways that she can't interpret the MMC's literal words he is speaking out of his literal mouth to be true. I probably couldn't count on two hands the amount of times the men have straight up said "I DO NOT HATE YOU" while the very intelligent scientist females mope about how much the men hate them for the next three pages thereafter. It just got to be way too much of that way too often. The end of this book was also so abrupt. We literally could have taken out at least 50 pages of inner Elsie dialogue and her second-guessing nature of whatever Jack said to her and made the book come to an actual conclusion. Soooo many side characters in this story that deserve justice!!

Although I enjoyed Love, Theoretically's story and plotline more than Love on the Brain, I can't say I was all too happy with Elsie any more than I was with Bee. Overall, I am just not connecting or vibing with the FMCs Ali writes about.
