I was nervous to read the second book in this series because I didn't enjoy reading "Everyone in my Family Has Killed Someone". I thought it was a bit too long, too many characters, and sometimes confusing.

But Stevenson really turned it around in this second book. There is a good amount of characters, a good sense of setting, and not too many murders (but I guess one is more than enough). Also, I think it turned out really good because we get to follow up with Ernest after be solved the murders in the first book and the toll it took on him. I think that element was pretty compelling. Also, I love Ernest constantly breaking that fourth wall with us.

I'm thinking about going back to the first book to give it another try. But I'll need to read it in print
