The Accidental Honeymoon by Portia MacIntosh

3.5 Rounded up to 4

Georgie finds out that her fiancée, John, has been cheating on her. They're due to go on a romantic break to Vegas before flying to the UK for a family wedding, but Georgie ends up in Vegas alone.

Feeling like John has turned her into a twinset-wearing frump, Georgie gives herself a makeover and embraces the party atmosphere. She meets gorgeous Jack, they go drinking, and wake up married. Georgie wants to save face at her cousin's wedding in the UK, so if she can get Jack to play John for a week, she won't have to tell them anything, right?

This had some genuinely funny moments, proper chuckles (the mini skirt, the stripper) - I wanted a bit of light, fun, romantic escapism and that's exactly what I got. I would've liked a little bit more of a backstory on Jack, I felt that there was a lot we didn't know about him, and it made me sad the way Georgie was so self-conscious about her body. I loved her relationship with her brothers, I loved the family dynamic, and I really liked the way Georgie and Jack got on with each other.

I think this is a perfect Summer read, great for a sun lounger or flight, or just if you want something uplifting and happy that you can read in a couple of hours. Really liked this.
