I was told this book is better than the first (which I didn't really care for) and I 100% agree. This one is WAY better written than the first and the storyline was MUCH more interesting. I'm still not much of a fantasy fan, and I haven't been converted to a Maas super fan, but I definitely give her credit for her growth between the two books.

I enjoyed the fast-paced storyline, answering of lingering questions from the first book, and new issues that arose & will presumably be answered in future books. I enjoyed the characters much more in this book - everyone seemed to have mature along with the author - and the narration wasn't nearly as annoying compared to the first book.

Can't say I highly recommend the book/series because it's not my favorite genre, but I am seeing more positives than negatives and am actually looking forward to the next book...a little bit anyway 😉
