I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown

5.0

I'm Still Here is a collection of short and poignant essays which are interwoven to read like a work of fiction. Austin Channing Brown chronicles her understanding of Blackness through lived experiences and how words often do not equal actions.

While each essay could be read as a standlone piece, Austin's prose is more impactful as a whole. These memoir essays can, and should, be read over and over as challenges to think, question, and dismantle systems of oppression. We (white people) need to stand up and outside of our comfort zones and fight for change alongside our BIPOC brethren.
