Just Mercy
by Bryan Stevenson
This was fascinating and heartbreaking and hopeful all at once. The strides that EJI have managed to make are laudable. The fact that the battle is continuous is daunting. The people we meet in these pages are so human, and therefore deserving of respect and mercy. Stevenson does not excuse the acts of any of the prisoners he has met who have committed the crimes they were accused of, but he does ask readers to look at their lives with compassion anyway.
