It was okay. Kai is likeable, more so than Damon, but he’s character is kinda weak. It’s not well explained why he is the way he is (why he likes watching people). I like banks. Her character was loveable and her selflessness for Damon was understandable. I enjoyed that aspect of the plot. Trying to find Damon, Banks unknown connection to him, Kai not giving up on pursuing her. Although there relationship didn’t have enough give and take. They just picked up where they left off… like where’s the angst and doubts about if them together is right. Anyways kinda don’t have the motivation to read the next one but I will anyway because I expect it to be better from what people have said.
there’s one pretty disturbing scene in this book. Chapter 16. Damon mother says some pretty fucked up things to Damon in front of other people and it’s very unsettling. It leads into understand why Damon loves pain. It’s the way he copes. I.e he use to slice the bottom of his feet to feel is when he walks and plays basketball
