I found the story to be interesting, and I loved the uptight business-man main character (I wish this was explored even more), but I found the writing to be just okay. A little too much enviorment description, and not enough characters with depth. The book is full of millenial humor, and too many clichés. Some of the humor and conversations felt like watching a Disney channel show, or reading wattpad fanfiction written by a teenager. The characters where especially cliché, and some of the fantasy elements were too. The plot was weird, I don’t know how to describe it, but the ending felt anti-climatic.

The content warnings make this seem like a darker book than it is, but they don’t really get explored, and doesn’t make as much of an impact as you’d expect.

Grandpa made me extremely uncomfortable

Overall an okay book, but not a book I’d pick up if I was looking for profound dialouge, or a super engaging plot.
