I absolutely LOVED this book! I 'read' this as an audio book and genuinely had a blast (big props to narrator, Elizabeth Evans who did a magnificent reading).
I really enjoyed the magic system and the world building, and the characters felt really... well, real. Taly, our main character, is clever and independent and sassy, but she's also stubborn as all hell, immature at times and sometimes even downright annoying. But I loved that about her as a character because it gave her room to grow (and grow up). I also really enjoyed that the romance wasn't the main focus, that it took a back seat to the main story. It was a nice friends to lovers slow burn.
I definitely recommend giving this a go if you enjoy and good, fun, light fantasy adventure.
