Not quite sure where I stand on this. I had several issues with this, including (but not limited to):

• The writing being like a 2014 fanfic SEVERAL times during the first half of this book (The messy bun, overly dramatic, “She’s quirky” kind. You know the ones)
• General writing/wording issues
• Rune being weirdly possessive at one point in the story
• Stating the obvious (Telling, not showing)

At the same time though, Poppy’s a pretty sweet character, and there were some quotes of hers that I liked. I also had significantly less issues with the last third-ish of the book. So I’m gonna leave it at 2.5 (my exact middle rating), even if it may deserve lower.
