Demon Escape by M.J. Haag

I’m so glad Melissa decided to continue this series on her own! I loved the OG series by Melissa and Becca, and the world-building in that series is seriously amazeballs! I would highly recommend reading the OG series before tackling these companion books, but you can definitely start the series from this book if you are so inclined. However, I think this book makes a lot more sense if you start from the beginning and then delve into the companions.
Anyways…EDEN! I adored that spunky young woman! She has been through some heartbreaking times since the world went to sh*t, having lost her parents and had to endure the sexual persuasions of the men who stole her to help ‘rebuild’ the world and the human population, all without a trustworthy person to rely on and place her faith in. That is, until a certain fae with a single-minded determination to find her and protect her comes roaring into her life and turns her whole world on its axel. Ghua’s fascination with her sets Eden on edge, and she hides behind a façade of youth to deflect his overwhelming interest in her. But the lies we tell can never remain concealed for long, and Eden will have some serious decisions to make once Ghau finally discovers the truth.
I’m obsessed with Eden and Ghua. I loved Ghua in the OG series, but add in Eden’s flighty and snarky personality and you got a dream pair forged in the fires of Hell! I loved their chemistry and Eden’s attempts to dissuade Ghau’s fascination with her, though Eden’s façade as a 12-year-old could only ward him off for so long. Ultimately, we all knew they just HAD to be together, and I was SO EXCITED when Eden finally acknowledged her feelings and began to put her trust and heart in Ghua’s capable hands. Highly recommended for fans of the OG Resurrection series! Reading through the entire trilogy, only to miss out on this amazing companion novel, is NOT an option.
