On the cover of this book, Glen Cook says “a stunning debut…relentless till the end” and boy oh boy is that an accurate statement. This was absolutely RELENTLESS, it felt like something absolutely batshit was happening every chapter, but none of it felt out of place. This was a really strong story and it was fascinating watching the relationship between Anji and The Hawk develop throughout the book. The ending twist genuinely shocked me and I’m very excited to see where this story goes next.
