L.A. Outlaws by T. Jefferson Parker

4.0

I'd read books two and four in this series so it was time to tackle the first book. Even though I knew how this book was going to end it was still a page turner. The pursuit of the hunter and the hunted and their switching of roles back and forth makes for captivating reading. Charlie Hood is the troubled honest broker. He comes off as the most realistic character. Allison's character is more unreal-beautiful woman who teaches history but is a robber and car thief. My only minor criticism is that Parker refers to Marines as soldiers. He lives next to Pendleton and should know this faux pas. It's a mistake you only make once. Book three awaits and then I'm caught up in this series.
