I am normally a fan of Heather Morris' books, but this one did not strike the same chord with me. It was interesting to learn about the stories of the women who were incarcerated in Japan during WWII, but there didn't seem to be a clear plot line. It was more a case of describing the day to day goings on, rather than having an overall narrative. It also felt like the author exaggerated at times and tried to force too many "feel good" moments; it didn't feel authentic.
