Temptation by Selena Kitt

5.0

Taboo constructs in fiction do it for me. All the way, all the time, no questions asked: I'm in if it's taboo in more cultures than not.

I read Under Mr. Nolan's Bed last year (2013) and grabbed this trilogy while it was on sale.

Oddly enough? I'm glad that I waited to read this book because I could appreciate it without comparing it obsessively to the original.

This IS the original novel. I will say that to start out with so that there's no confusion. There are several versions of "Under Mr. Nolan's Bed" -The Original, The Original (Revised) which is currently available on Amazon, and Plaid Skirt Confessions (which goes another direction with the story and is available on a few retailers)- though this one is entirely different as it literally takes place in whole other era than the original(s).

The story-line remains the same. It's only the placement that truly changes in this one.

What makes it work at a 5-Star-Rating for me?

The fact that the era-change really does make it even more taboo somehow. There was something inherently innocent about that time period which this capitalizes on, knocking it out of the park with all the references to the heroes of that era. I loved that there was still the intimacy between Leah and Erica. I loved that there was still passion between Leah and Rob. I was blown away by the secrets that were in this book which were NOT in the original and I love, love, loved where this book ended.

There's nothing better than a wicked read by Selena Kitt for making me smile. This one blew me away. So glad I grabbed it!
