Hands down, a brilliant look at identity and perception. The seen vs. unseen. At grief and how it shapes us from the inside out. At what really lies within those liminal spaces we are too afraid to explore. I would say “I could not put this down!!” but that would be a lie given I did have to pause this book a few times just to let myself fully process all the horrors that Athan goes through. And boy does he REALLY go through it!!! It felt like you were really there with him every beautiful and horrifying step of the way. I felt so many emotions from beginning to end (I especially cried right at the end) and will forever hold Athan and Dom in my heart

A wonderful and haunting example of how sometimes the most beautiful things can be the most deadly– and, at the same time, how there’s also beauty within the pain you hold within yourself.
