The Silent Patient

“You become increasingly comfortable with madness— and not just the madness of others, but your own. We’re all crazy, I believe, just in different ways.”
This was a good read. It may not be the darkest psychological thriller out there, but it’s a cleanly written one that held my attention.
What I love about this kind of story is that the psychology isn’t just part of the plot, it also entangles into the reader’s own experience.
There are so many subtle details woven throughout the story that if you’re only chasing the twist or waiting for the big punchline, you risk glossing over those moments along the way.
The short chapters and pacing really hooked me, and even though I predicted where the story was headed pretty early on, I still enjoyed the reveal and the telling of this story.
