Of Blood and Aether

Thank you to Nerd Fam for gifting me an arc
I absolutely adored this book! It was such a nice change from the typical storyline we get, being character driven instead of having some big war or event take place. Being able to get to know the characters, and really dive into their minds was refreshing.
This was a true slow burn romance, making us really wait to get that spice spice between our two main characters (though you still get bits and pieces of spice between others). It’s nice to watch them become close and build a solid friendship before they enter into more.
That being said, you do get your heart ripped completely out of your chest at the ending… I was truly NOT expecting what happened to happen. ESPECIALLY one of the characters behavior completely doing a 180. I knew there was something coming, based on context clues but was surprised at the turn it took. We were left with CRUMBS at the end, and are still hungry!
If you love character driven stories, tension and banter, slowwww burn, and strangers to friends to lovers to enemies? … then this one is definitely for you!
