The Dead Girls' Dance
by Rachel Caine
Each book really feels like a chapter in the overall story or an episode of a TV series. This episode revolves around the chaos of Shane’s dad’s making. He is a self-proclaimed Vampire Killer. You can imagine that Morganville is going to roll over and play dead. There are a lot changes in this book. New relationships bloom, old relationships are revealed, and some ghosts just plain change.
It really has a Scooby-Do and the gang feel. Our four teens are running around town trying to follow the clues. There are a few heavy scenes. Claire has to deal with her illegalness, not 18. She also had a run-in at the Dead Girls’ Dance that had the mom in me cringing. Vampires will sometimes save the day.
Cynthia continues the series. She is definitely the voice of Claire. I’m actually sad that my library only has the ebook copy of the next one and not the audiobook of the next one. *sigh*
It’s like YA-Vampire popcorn. It satisfies your fix, but you can’t stop.
